FOLK

Open Sky were commissioned to write, direct and produce Folk by Rural Media and BBC Arts as part of BBC Art’s New Creatives Programme. The film showcases the up-and-coming musical talents of Livi van Warmelo (the new creative) who both wrote the score (alongside local composer Will Cookson) and performed the lead role in the film.

Livi’s concept for the film was a musical conversation during which melody replaced dialogue to communicate a complex narrative.

Folk was shot in a single day on location in Grosmont, Wales.
